Your rights
The NDIS Code of Conduct sets out expectations for NDIS providers and workers. In our work with you, we aim to uphold your right to:
- be treated with respect, dignity and fairness;
- make choices about your own life and support;
- privacy and confidentiality;
- be safe from abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation;
- receive clear information and communicate in a way that works for you;
- give feedback or make a complaint without fear of retaliation; and
- have your culture, identity, language and beliefs respected.
You can read the NDIS Code of Conduct on the NDIS Commission website.
What you can expect from us
- We will listen to you and explain what we can and cannot do.
- We will ask for your consent before sharing your information.
- We will respect your home, your routines and your choices.
- We will be clear about funding, fees and service arrangements.
- We will take concerns seriously and discuss next steps with you.
Your information
We collect only the information we need. Website forms ask you not to include diagnoses, medical records or NDIS numbers. You can read more in our privacy policy.
Safety and safeguarding
Unified Steps is currently an unregistered NDIS provider and is progressing through the NDIS registration process. Until registration is granted, we do not hold a certificate of registration and are not a registered provider. We are clear about this so you can make an informed choice.
We do not claim to have completed registration, accreditation or audit processes that we have not completed. If you have questions about worker suitability, supervision or safety arrangements, please ask us before support begins.
If restrictive practices are ever proposed, they must be authorised and managed under the relevant NDIS rules. Unified Steps does not publish a claim about restrictive practice authorisation on this website.
If something is not right
You can raise a concern with us by phone on 0451 084 731 or email at info@unifiedsteps.com.au. You can also ask someone you trust to contact us with you or on your behalf.
Our complaints and feedback page explains the external options, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Advocacy
You have the right to use an independent advocate. If you do not have an advocate, you can ask us for information about advocacy services, or contact the NDIS Commission for guidance.
