NDIS funding
Understanding NDIS funding.
The short version
Unified Steps is currently an unregistered NDIS provider and is progressing through the NDIS registration process. We can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. We cannot accept NDIA-managed funding. SIL availability depends on our registration application and the NDIS Commission's transitional arrangements.
Self-managed
AvailableYou manage your own NDIS funding and can choose an unregistered provider. We can discuss invoices, records and service agreements with you.
Plan-managed
AvailableYour registered plan manager can pay invoices from an unregistered provider. We work with your plan manager and provide the information they need.
NDIA-managed
Not availableNDIA-managed funding requires a registered NDIS provider. Unified Steps is currently unregistered and progressing through the registration process, so we cannot accept NDIA-managed funding at this time.
Supported independent living (SIL)
Registration in progressSIL is a higher-risk support that requires registration with the NDIS Commission. Unified Steps is progressing through the registration process. We will confirm whether the Commission's transitional arrangements apply before accepting SIL referrals.
Self-managed
You manage your funding.
- You choose the providers you want to work with.
- You are responsible for managing your budget and records.
- We provide invoices and receipts so you can keep track.
- We discuss the practical arrangements with you before support begins.
Plan-managed
Your plan manager pays the invoices.
- Your plan manager must be registered with the NDIS Commission.
- We send invoices to your plan manager for processing.
- Your plan manager keeps the records and submits the claim.
- Check with your plan manager before committing to support.
NDIA-managed funding
If your plan is NDIA-managed, you must use registered providers. We cannot accept NDIA-managed funding while our registration is in progress. This is a rule set by the NDIS, not a preference.
If your plan is NDIA-managed and you would like to use Unified Steps, you could speak with the NDIA about whether a different plan management option is right for you. We cannot give you financial or plan management advice.
Supported independent living
SIL is a higher-risk support. SIL providers must be registered with the NDIS Commission. Unified Steps is currently unregistered and is progressing through the registration process. We are not currently accepting new NDIS-funded SIL referrals while our application is being assessed.
If you choose and manage your own support workers, the arrangement may not be classified as SIL. We can talk through your circumstances, but we will confirm whether the Commission's transitional arrangements apply before any SIL support is arranged.
